From Brad, Executive Director

I am excited about everything that’s happening at the theatre right now!  Our season ticket sales are going GREAT – we have over 150 more season ticket holders than this time last year.  Most performances of the past four productions have sold out, and future ticket sales are incredible!  We are looking forward to a very, very busy fall and winter, beginning in September with Driving Miss Daisy, followed by a special production of Always … Patsy Cline.  In November, we’ll begin our Christmas show, Home for the Holidays, and in December, the Dickens Carolers will take the stage for two great performances, followed by our New Year’s production, Back in the Saddle Again – A very busy few months!

Make your reservations SOON for the July production of “I Left My Heart – A Tribute to Tony Bennett” if you haven’t already done so.  Many of the performances are sold out, and it’s going to be a wonderful evening of music, performed by four of your favorite Chestnut guys – Curt Crespino, Patrick Lewallen, Kipp Simmons, and David Thompson.  They will definitely take you on a trip down memory lane!

“Greater Tuna” was a great show, and I want to personally thank Shelly Stewart, Bill Case, Bob Hart, and the rest of the staff for their commitment and hard work.  The show required enormous energy, and everyone involved rose to the task.

If you’re visiting other parts of the world this summer, have fun on your vacations.  And if you have summer visitors, I hope you bring them to the Chestnut.  YOU are important to us, and we enjoy meeting your friends and family. Thank you for your continued patronage and support.

See you at the theatre, Brad

Children’s Summer Theatre Workshop - July 21-25 pippi

Your children and grandchildren will love learning all about theatre with Pippi Longstocking!  Pippi, a freckled little tomboy with a spirit as fiery as her hair, does all the things kids love to get away with, but never can!

The workshop will be a week of educational fun, focusing on the many aspects of theatre – scripts, songs, dances, building sets, designing costumes, and performing!  The week will culminate in a 30-minute production, and friends and family are invited to attend (at no extra cost).

We are offering two separate workshops this year – a morning session and an afternoon session the week of July 21-25.  (Children 6 – 18 yrs.)  Make your reservations EARLY – Last year’s workshops sold out quickly!  Call 913-764-2121 for more information.
